About Me

Hi, and thanks for visiting www.ciscostudies.co.uk

The purpose of my blog is to offer a single point of reference on the internet where I can find notes and information relevant to my Cisco CCNP studies. As the weeks go by I plan to include lab info, facts and figures, plus any interesting bits that can be of assistance.

I've worked in IT for about 15 years and in that time I've worked in desktop support, server support, MS Exchange administration and I now work for a major mobile network provider in the UK as a network engineer.

I passed my CompTIA Network+ back in 2003 but it wasn't until last year that I decided to commit my career to networking. I was able to make a sideways move out of the Microsoft team and in to the Network support team and I started to attend the local Cisco Networking Academy (which is great by the way, if you get a chance to attend an Academy do it!)

After successfully passing the Cisco CCNA exploration course I passed my Cisco CCNA certification in September 2009. After receiving my certificate I decided to maintain the momentum and continue to study towards achieving the Cisco CCNP certification. This blog is a record of that journey.

The next 18 months are going to be very interesting. I'll be working to get my CCNP via the Cisco Networking Academy starting with the BCSI exam and I intend to follow that up with the new SWITCH and TSHOOT exams.

At the same time I have my full time job which has a steep learning curve, and I also have a house that needs decorating, plus a garden that needs reshaping and then there's my wonderful family to be with as well. It's going to be intense!

Thank you for you support and I'd love to hear from you with any thoughts or comments you have.

All the best with your CiscoStudies!!

Jonathan
